Mix and Mingle. Join the Cobb Young Professionals (CYP) next Thursday, March 20, for the group’s March social. This is an opportunity to network and partake in fun team-building games.
The event will be held at The Georgian Club, located on the 17th floor of the Galleria 100 building, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Admission is free for CYP members and $20 for non-members. For more information, visit the Chamber’s website.
Real Time. Acerbic political comedianBill Maher will be at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre this Saturday night. The host of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” he has received 21 Emmy nominations over the course of his career.
Maher’s performance starts at 8:00 p.m. You can purchase tickets online through Ticketmaster or at The Cobb Energy Centre’s box office, located at 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway.
Business University. The Cobb Chamber of Commerce’s next Business University session will take place on Thursday, March 20, and is entitled “Creating Environments that Inspire Desire and Build Brands.”
The session, which will feature a presentation by executives from Blue Sky Exhibits, will focus on trade-show exhibits but its recommendations will “apply to all branded environments,” including stores, showrooms, hotels and museums, according to the Chamber’s website.
The program will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Chamber’s headquarters at 240 Interstate North Parkway. Chamber members can register online for $25 or pay $30 at the door. General admission is $50.

Grand Opening. Unleashed by Petco, a smaller, neighborhood-store concept from the giant pet retailer, will open its Marietta location this weekend. The store, which focuses on environmentally friendly products and organic pet food, is located in the Delk Spectrum shopping center at 2900 Delk Road Extension.
Saturday will feature a 9 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a meet-and-greet for leashed pets and their owners will take place on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In addition, the store will offer $5 self-serve dog washes all weekend and will also provide shoppers with free goodie bags.
