Labor Day in Cobb. The Celebrate Freedom Atlanta festival takes place this Saturday at Jim Miller Park in Marietta. This event will features an all-day concert with a number of Christian-influenced artists, a children’s village with inflatable play areas, and 5K and 10K road races.
The races start at 7:30 a.m., and live music begins at 8 a.m. Admission is free, but you are required to present a ticket, which can be downloaded by clicking here. Parking at Jim Miller Park, which is located at 2245 Callaway Road, is $5.
Art in August. Come out this weekend to the Marietta Square for Marietta Art in the Park, a weekend-long event featuring an exhibition of the works of more than 150 artists from across the country.
Festival activities include craft stations for young artists, an interactive art alley and a chalk art competition for kids in all grade levels.
The festival runs Saturday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. For more information, click here.
Stay Sharp. Join the Cobb Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, Sept. 7, as it hosts one of its regular Business Builders sessions. Business Builders is a group dedicated to enhancing and supporting the personal and professional development of people seeking to learn key business principles. The sessions provide opportunities to speak with others to exchange ideas, review best-selling business books and improve on professional skills.
The Sept. 7 session will take place from 7:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Chamber’s headquarters at 240 Interstate North Parkway. Executive Club and Chairman’s Club members enjoy free admission. For more information, click here.
