A Political Breakfast. Gov. Nathan Deal will speak this Saturday morning at the Cobb County Republican Party headquarters.
The cost to attend is $10 per person and includes breakfast, which will be served at 8:15 a.m. The program will last from 8:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Showing Appreciation. Join the Cobb Chamber as it hosts a member appreciation breakfast next Thursday, March 6, at The Georgian Club. Attendees will have the chance to hear information on updated member benefits, programs and events, and to network with other members. The breakfast will last from 7:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

A Collegiate History Lesson. Join Thomas Allan Scott, professor emeritus at Kennesaw State University (KSU), as he discusses the first 50 years of KSU this Sunday afternoon. Dr. Scott taught history at KSU for 43 years and was a witness to many of the changes and growth the university has experienced over the years.
He will speak from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Smyrna Public Library. The event is free to attend and is sponsored by the Friends of Smyrna Library.

Let’s Kick It. To commemorate its grand opening, the Atlanta Martial Arts Center: Vinings will hold a free introductory session this Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The class will focus on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense for adults.

The martial arts organization will hold its introductory and regular classes in the Smyrna Community Center’s fitness and dance studio. The community center is located at 200 Village Green Circle.
