Choo Choo! The Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History in Kennesaw will hold its annual “Trains, Trains, Trains” event this Saturday. The event, which will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature railroad-themed crafts, model train layouts and an impressive collection of Civil War-era trains to view.
Tickets are $7.50 for adults, $6.50 for seniors, $5.50 for children ages 4-12, and free for children 3 and under as well as museum members. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
Family and Friends CPR. TheSmyrna Community Center and BASIC CPR will host an adult/infant CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) training class this Sunday. Participants in the class will learn adult hands-only CPR, adult AED use, child and infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children and infants. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to be certified, as this class comes at a highly discounted rate of $25.
The class will run from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The class is limited to eight students, and you must pre-register. Visit the BASIC CPR website to register and for more information.

Southern Mystery Festival. The Smyrna Community Center will welcome a group of Southern mystery authors and fans as they gather for “Murder Goes South” this Saturday. This is an event where authors and readers can join together to discuss the mystery genre and the craft of writing such novels. Tamar Myers, author of “The Den of Antiquity” and the “Pennsylvania Dutch” mystery series, will be the keynote speaker at the event.
Registration starts at 9:00 a.m., and the event will last until 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $30, and lunch will be provided. The Friends of Smyrna Library and Sisters in Crime are sponsoring this event. Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.
Special Olympics Winter Games. Cobb County will host the State Indoor Winter Games for the Special Olympics this year, and the theme is “A Night in Paris.” Come out and cheer on the competitors as they play games of basketball, hockey, bowling and more! Events will be held all weekend long, starting on Friday at 12:00 p.m. and ending on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

The Midtown Men. “The Midtown Men,” a concert show featuring four cast members from the legendary Broadway musical “Jersey Boys,” will be at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre this Sunday night at 7 p.m. The show features the music that defined the 1960s, and the four cast members have performed music from the show on “Good Morning America,” “Access Hollywood” and “Katie.”
