Wellness with Wellstar. Was your New Year’s resolution to focus more on your health? If so, you might want to check out the Community Health and Wellness Expo at Wellstar Health Place in Marietta on Thursday, Jan. 31, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Expo features information from health professionals, free health screenings, fitness-equipment giveaways and more. Wellstar Health Place — a fitness club with gym, spa, racquetball courts, tracks and pool — is located at 330 Kennestone Hospital Boulevard in Marietta.
That Famous Red Dog. This weekend marks your chance to see everyone’s favorite big red dog — perhaps the only big red dog — in person. “Clifford the Big Red Dog Live!” comes to the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre this Saturday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m.
The Emmy-nominated musical is geared for the whole family, and follows Clifford and Emily Elizabeth on a big adventure.
Tickets, which range from $15.50 to $30.50 plus applicable fees, are available online through Ticketmaster or by calling 800-745-3000.
The Cobb Energy Centre is located at 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway.
For the Grownups. If you’re looking for humor that’s a little more grownup, maybe a night with comedian Ron White would be more your cup of tea. The comedian is presenting his newest stand-up show, “A Little Unprofessional,” this weekend at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
The show runs this Friday, Feb. 1, at 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $47.75 or $57.75 plus applicable fees and can be purchased online through Ticketmaster or by calling 800-745-3000.
Kick Off the Giving. Relay for Life of Vinings is hosting a free kick-off party this weekend during which locals can learn how to get involved in the organization, which sponsors relay-race events to raise money for cancer research.
The party starts this Saturday, Feb. 2, at 1:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Place Atlanta/Cobb Galleria. The Hyatt is located at 2876 Spring Hill Parkway in Smyrna. For more information contact Amy Haygood at [email protected].
